Dr Gareth Clay is a Reader in the Department of Geography at the University of Manchester, where his research looks at the role of fire on carbon cycling of peatlands.

Gareth is the principal investigator and responsible for the smooth running of the project, as well as coordinating WPs 1, 5 and 6.
